Ladies from Verwood Methodist Fellowship started knitting warm school jumpers for the children of CONTESA’s Family Futures School last autumn. The knitting fever spread to friends, neighbours and other churches, and now about 200 jumpers have been made. Esnat’s group took about 60 on the April visit (photo). See the delight on the faces! The rest will be taken on the July trip, which coincides with the coldest part of the year in Zambia, and so will be extra welcome. There are about 700 children in the school so there may be scope for more knitting next winter.
